Delta Dental is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve oral health in the community. Our commitment to our work in the community defines Delta Dental. We embrace this mission and make community initiatives a high priority by sponsoring programs such as ÒLand of Smiles,Ó Give Kids A Smile and the Delta Dental Health Theatre. For more than eight years, our ÒLand of SmilesÓ characters Ð Tooth Wizard, Panda and PlaqueMan Ð have been ÔedutainingÕ Missouri school children in kindergarten through third grade. The program visits over 300 schools each year, reaching more than 70,000 children annually. Since inception, our energetic characters have spread oral health awareness and encouraged healthy habits to more than 500,000 children in Missouri. We are proud of the fact that we were the founding sponsor, and remain a primary sponsor, of Give Kids A Smile, a nonprofit organization that provides two free clinics each year offering underserved children access to dental care. We are also a primary, permanent sponsor of the Delta Dental Health Theatre, a unique educator-facilitated program in LacledeÕs Landing that teaches children about the importance of oral health and healthy habits.
